Efforts have been intensified to establish Celestial International University at Imeko, Ogun State.
A former Director General of the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs, Prof. Bola Akinterinwa, during the first official site inspection, described the proposed university as a fulfilment of God’s prophecy.
Akinterinwa, who is also the Secretary of CCC Board of Trustees, said the importance of education could not be overemphasised.
He stated, “The real instrument of change is education. You need to educate the people of the world, you educate them on the content of the Bible, godliness and societal issues. Education is the foundation of development in the world. Therefore, there is a time for everything. In addition, I think the time of the university has come. That is what we are trying to put in place. Due to reasons of force majeure, by necessity, we are putting all efforts together to have the university take off. I can assure you that in the next academic session, we are ready.”
According to him, God, who turned the CCC cathedral and changed it to what we have today is still the same that is in charge of the university.
He added, “This is the time you have people who are now working on what the elders have done before. If anybody is having a doubt, you should not blame him or her. They are speaking from experience. They don’t know that we have people who are ready to work and make the university a reality.”
Also, the Asiwaju of Yewaland and Balogun of Imeko, Prof Anthony Asiwaju, said God had made the Celestial International University possible for the fulfilment of the founder, Saint Samuel Oshoffa’s vision.
The facilitator said the university would be built on almost 330 hectares of land, noting that the size of the land was bigger than the entire coverage of the University of Ibadan campus and twice the size of the University of Lagos.
“It feels fulfilling. The promise of God can take years but it does not go out and return to Him. That is why 34 years is a very small period of time for the fulfilment of a divine dream. Isaiah’s prophecy took over 2,000 years to come to fulfilment. What could be disappointing is for it not to come to fruition,” he said.
