The Cherubim and Seraphim Church Unification Campus Fellowship, on Sunday, February 16, 2020, decorated its past leaders as part of the activities lined up for the 40th Anniversary and International convention slated for 27th April through 3rd of May 2020.
The founding Apostolates of the campus fellowship, who contributed immensely to its growth both spiritually and physically at the Central Executive Council level, were decorated as Grand Ambassadors.
The investiture was held at the Youth Chapel of C&S Ayo ni o, Surulere District in Lagos.
The Apostolate/Chairman, Central Executive Council, C&S Unification Campus Fellowship, Apostle Joseph Arigbangba, said the award recipients were considered worthy of the honour as a result of their commitment to achieving the goals of the church.
The CEC chairman explained that the newly decorated grand ambassadors deserved the honour in respect of their efforts to salvage the fellowship at a point it was almost going into extinction.
The former Apostolates of the fellowship honoured include Most Senior Apostle Prophet Oluseyi Coker, Senior Apostle Kehinde Showemimo, Evangelist Duro Soetan and Apostle Olajide Atansuyi.
Coker was the Apostolate and Chairman of CEC from 1995 -1999; Showemimo, 1999 -2003; Evangelist Soetan, 2003 – 2005; and Evangelist Atansuyi, 2012 0 -2018.
Although the duo of Apostle Atansuyi and Apostle Kehinde Showemimo were unavoidably absent, they were represented by their wives who were decorated and also received the awards on their behalf.
Reiterating that the 40th anniversary of the church was also geared towards celebrating the grand ambassadors, fondly called the forerunners, Arigbangba said, “These ambassadors who are representatives of our cause and kind represent the true values, principles, and culture of the kingdom of God which the Unification stands for. Therefore, they stand for the character and purpose of the King/Father of this Church (Unification), Jesus Christ.”
He added, “These Ambassadors are faithful supporters of the Cherubim and Seraphim Church Unification Campus Fellowship who are committed to making a lasting impact in achieving the goals of the church. They share a common interest through their relationship with our Church, which is demonstrated by a passion and enthusiasm to give their time, talents, and treasures to further the vision, mission and objectives of Unification with special reference to Isokan @40.”
According to Arigbangba, the ambassadors are equipped by God to introduce Unification to friends, family, peers, and contemporaries in their communities and spheres of influence.
“Additionally, ambassadors become the eyes and ears of the Unification in their respective environments. The ambassador programme has grown into a vibrant group of individuals with diverse personalities, spiritual gifts, talents, and skills. Ambassadors use their unique abilities to further the mission of Unification by volunteering their time in a variety of impactful ways,” he added.
The 40th International Convention & Anniversary Committee Chairman, Pastor Segun Adewunmi, described the move as strategic, intentional and deliberate.
He stated that the committee decided to hold the investiture at the Surulere District of the C&S Ayo Ni o because the church had over the years served as a major hub for graduates and student members of the campus fellowship.
No church, he argued, had contributed to the development of the C&S Campus Fellowship than the Surulere District of the C&S Ayo ni o.
He described the Grand Ambassador awards bestowed on the recipients as a call to service as they (awardees) would be required to assist the committee to harness and mobilise all available resources toward the success of the anniversary/convention.
“The honour places a responsibility on them in assisting the committee to harness and mobilise all resources geared towards a successful celebration,” he added.
