The Goshen Household Cherubim and Seraphim Church’s elders in council have declared strict compliance with the state government’s directive on religious gatherings, giving precautionary measures as the scourge of coronavirus ranges on.
The compliance edict was made available to Adura International Magazine by Pastor Abayomi Akande, the Goshen C&S Leader-in-Charge, following the unabating spread of the pandemic worldwide and even in Nigeria.
Akande noted that the decision was in line with the directive from the Lagos and Ogun state governments as part of the precautionary steps towards managing the further spread of the coronavirus disease.
According to him, there will be no services, programmes, meetings or any such gathering of not more than 50 worshippers until further notice in the church based on the position of the state governments.
“Families are encouraged to have their family services and prayers in their respective homes,” Akande said.
The man of God, however, recommended some preventive steps.
“People should be encouraged to carry tissue papers along wherever they are to curtail moisture emanating from coughs or sneezes.
“Maintain good hygiene in the washing of hands with soap and water (for 20 seconds) or using sanitizer gel to kill germs and avoid touching their eyes, noses and mouths with dirty hands.
“Suspend handshaking, hugging, embracing each other and other direct physical contacts.
” Stay indoors, self-isolate and avoid contact with other people.”
Pastor Akande also prayed for a speedy, divine intervention on the disease ravaging the globe.
He also expressed heartfelt condolences with victims of the Abule Ado gas fire explosion.
