The Supreme Head, C & S Unification Church of Nigeria, His Most Eminence, Dr, Prophet Solomon Adegboyega Alao JP, has called on all Seraphs worldwide to join him in three-day prayer to seek the face of God to stop the scourge of the coronavirus that is threatening human existence.
The call for prayers came amid widespread panic in the country as the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control confirmed an additional five cases of coronavirus, bringing the total number of cases to 35.
Baba Alao also pleaded with all Nigerians, irrespective of their religion or tribe, to join him wherever they were in the three-day prayers that would begin on Wednesday, March 24 and end by Friday 26, 2020.
“This “Prayer of Faith” will hold for these three days at 3 pm, 6 pm and 9 pm daily,” a statement by the Chief PRO of the church, Apostle Muyiwa Adeyemi, quoted Baba Olori as saying.
The Supreme Head said, “Without prejudice to what the government is doing, we as Seraphs know the greatest weapon we have against epidemics which is the prayer and the time has come to use the prayer to end this pandemic.
“For three days, I want all Seraphs and those who wish this country well to join me in the spirit in this Prayer of Faith. We want to pray King Solomon’s prayer at a time like this as recorded in 2Chronicles 7 verses 13-14 which says, “If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people; If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
Baba Olori also urged all Seraphs to cooperate with the government to tame the spread of the virus by observing social distance, personal hygiene and suspend all activities that would see more than approved numbers in a church or prayer ground.
He prayed for the victims of the coronavirus in various hospitals that Jesus Christ would touch and heal them. He also prayed for the repose of the souls of the people the virus had killed.
On Wednesday, the Lagos State Government, in a statement by the Commissioner for Home Affairs, Prince Anofiu Elegushi, declared that the state had banned all religious gathering of over 50 people within the state.
Also, the Ogun State government in a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the state Governor, Kunle Somorin, banned social clubs, halls, cinemas, nightclubs, restaurants, cafes, and sports arenas described as high-density gatherings of people, restricting the meeting of 50 or more people.
Recall that the C&S Movement Church, Surulere District Headquarters has complied with the directives of the Lagos State Government regarding the suspension of all religious gatherings with more 50 worshippers due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Baba Alao had earlier instructed all churches in Lagos and Ogun states to comply with the directives of governments in both states, suspending religious gatherings that are more than 50 people.
