The Cherubim and Seraphim Unification Campus Fellowship has postponed its 2020 annual international convention slated for 27th April to 3rd of May 2020 to mark the fellowship’s 40th anniversary.
The Central Executive Council, headed by the Apostolate/Chairman, Apostle Joseph Arigbangba, in a circular addressed to invited guest ministers, gave the COVID-19 pandemic as the reason the programme was cancelled.
Tagged ‘ Our Advocate and themed: The Way and the Truth’, the convention was until the cancellation scheduled to the fellowship’s Convention Ground in Wasinmi, along Ibadan-Ife Expressway, Osun state.
The CEC said, “The postponement was occasioned by the global spread of the coronavirus, COVID-19 pandemic together with its attendant Social Distance Law which has become a central topic of discussion and concern to all countries in the world.”
The fellowship, however, stated that a new date would be disclosed as soon the pandemic was defeated.
“On behalf of the Central Executive Council, the inconvenience that might result from this inevitable postponement is highly regretted. The new date for the programme will be communicated to you as soon as our Nation gets out of the pandemic issue. Please, be assured that your ministration is still intact.
“While thanking you immensely for your kind consideration and acceptance of this postponement and your zeal towards uplifting the work of God, we pray that the mighty God will continue to enrich your knowledge about Him and uplift you to greater height in Jesus name. ”
The 40th International Convention & Anniversary Chairman, Pastor Segun Adewunmi, in an interview with Adura International Magazine had said the Wasimi, Osun State convention ground of the church would play host to over 10,000 graduate and undergraduate members of the fellowship both home and abroad to celebrate 40 years of God’s faithfulness.
Meanwhile, the CEC in a separate circular addressed to all members of the existing campus fellowships, explained that the postponement did not amount to a total cancellation of the programme.
While noting that the registration process was still in effect, it urged members to continue to register pending the time a new date would be fixed.
It said, “Note that the CEC has not cancelled the convention. The new date will be communicated to you all as soon as our nation gets out of the pandemic issue. “However, the early bird registration period is still on, so you can continue to register for the convention online.”
“We seize this medium to tell you to continue to stay safe, take all the precautionary measures as advised by health experts and be prayerful,” the CEC added.
