The Supreme Head, Cherubim and Seraphim Unification Church of Nigeria, His Eminence Dr Solomon Adegboyega Alao, has faulted the proposed increment of the Value Added Tax by the Federal Government, describing it as an ill wind that will pauperise Nigerians and heighten unemployment in the country.
The cleric made the assertion while giving his goodwill message at the just concluded quarterly vigil tagged: ‘Night of Restoration’ held at the Seraphim Land, Km 40, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Maba, Ogun State.
The number one Seraph, speaking as a student of econometrics (financial calculus), disclosed that the increment of VAT from five per cent to 7.5 per cent won’t help the country and that President Muhammadu Buhari and his cabinet should look into it critically and have a rethink.
“The increment in the VAT will capsize most companies which will lead to unemployment and social disorder in the country.
“The solution is for the government to bring back companies that had left the country such as Dunlop, Michelin, among other, so as to create more jobs and reduce unemployment in the country.”
The cleric equally appreciated all members present at the event over their huge turnout at the Seraphim Day Anniversary held on September 14, 2019.
He also showed gratitude and prayed for all sponsors and people supporting the Seraph’s events both spiritually, morally and financially urging the congregation to always find time to pray for more divine grace upon such individuals.
He gave kudos to all the Baba Aladuras for enduring his shortcomings.
He stated his resolve to do his best at all time and to continually pray for those in the helms of affairs in the nation most especially the President.
The Supreme Head, however, admonished all Seraphs to be worthy ambassadors wherever they were, urging them to conduct themselves properly in the society and avoid all kinds of criminal acts.
