A gospel musician, Evangelist Lekan Remilekun Amos (a.k.a Omo Dafidi), has charged colleagues in the industry to be wary of the bandwagon effect influencing them to churn out nonsensical lyrics, as there are a true calling and reward by God, which must not be misdirected.
The sonorous gospel artist, who is making wave with the delivery of soul-lifting contents that edify the church of God across the divides, gave this counsel after ministering at the Gathering of Seraphs programme organised by Goshen Household Cherubim &Seraphim Church and themed: ‘Glorious Perfection’ at the Ifako Ijaiye Stadium, Lagos.
Amos, who commenced ministration at exactly 4 am and brought it to a halt 5:15 am, charged the audience with prayer-filled music directly impacting the lives of many.
Speaking after the ministration, he expressed his thought on the effect of questionable lyrical contents of some gospel singers, counselling them not to be derailed in their calling.
“What I just noticed about gospel music generally is that a lot of people believe that if they don’t sing nonsensical lyrics, they will not blow (the way we put in the industry), meaning, making an impact or being popular in your ministry but it depends on your calling.
“If you think your calling is to preach the word of God strictly, you don’t have to wait for anybody to misdirect you; just stand on your calling and wait for your time. Before you know it, you will see yourself at the top.
“I counsel everyone, do it as if you are doing it for a reward from God because one day every one of us will receive his or her reward.”
Commenting on what made a gospel artist unique, he harped on the call of God, saying, “I got the calling even before my birth because there was a prophecy that this child was going to do this and that.
“I am not doing this because my late father did it; I am doing it because it is my calling. So, if anybody thinks I want my son or my child to do what I am doing, train him or her in that line and if God says yes they would do it.”
Amos, however, noted that even as Seraphs posthumously celebrated 86th Saint Moses Orimolade Tunolase Day worldwide, a lesson needed to be learnt that real evangelism started through the late Orimolade which birthed many so-called Pentecostal churches today.
He said, “Baba Moses Orimolade Tunolase is a father of many nations because God has used him and his ministry to liberate the lives of so many people. Even most of the Pentecostal churches that emerged about 50 years ago, if not all, emanated from the C&S. So, we thank God for his (Orimolade’s) life.
“I also thank God for the lives of Seraphs as they have raised the bar in evangelism and outreach to save the souls of many from eternal perdition.”
The Shepherd-in-Charge of Goshen Household, Pastor Abayomi Akande, expressed his joy for the success of the epoch-making event held to commemorate the seventh year anniversary of the church coming up on November 3, 2019.
He
explained that he was marvelled and impressed by the huge turnout and
the great touch of God experienced by participants at the Gathering of
Seraphs as many of them had been largely transformed.
